This pair of Rigid heddle loom weavings captures the first 3.5 days of text chats between me and my girlfriend, a form of Interaction Data. I wove the data twice: once for my girlfriend (her messages in brown/green, mine in gray) and once for me (my messages in purple, hers in gray). The warp is set up using the proportion of messages from her vs. from me (roughly 2:1). Every message is represented by one weft yarn. Images that were exchanged are represented by Leno (a finger-manipulated warp technique similar to the weaving equivalent of stitches). A small segment of Spanish Lace represents shifting from the dating app platform to Signal.
There is a more detailed description in the zine for these weavings.
