A long cross-stitch embroidery of boxes in shades of red

In 2019, Silvie Kilgallon set out to stitch the 24 books of The Iliad, one cross-stitch per letter of the text. Each letter was mapped to a different color of embroidery thread, and the intention was to substitute one letter’s red-color with a unique blue-color every time she started a new book. This project represents Data from Text. She fully stitched the first book (shown above), and was on the third book when she stopped posting updates.
