For this embroidery, I worked out how many text messages and words of email my ex and I exchanged every day of 2025, the year following our divorce. 50 words of email are represented by one chain stitch; one text message is represented by a French knot. His color is brown, mine is purple. Each day is contained in a single Japanese darning stitch which looks like an hourglass. This piece uses organization, color, and quantity as its properties.
