My first Rigid heddle loom project. I did the warp entirely in purple, not understanding that in a balanced weave, the purple would be visible throughout.
The weft is Organizational Data, tracking four months of messages in my Library department’s Slack channel, August-November 2022. Each job title in my department was mapped to a different color, and each message was one weft yarn. The organization of the weaving is chronological.
There’s a detailed writeup and zine for this weaving. Doing it revealed to me the extent to which my boss communicates in bursts of announcements. When he was promoted in April 2025, I gave him this scarf.
