A laser cut wood board with a granny square glued to it, and metadata about the yarn

My girlfriend and I visited her parents for a few days in May 2025, and I kept track of the different ways that her mother introduced me to her friends and crocheted it into a Granny square, which inherently has properties similar to a pie chart (albeit with a fixed count). Her mother also crochets, so that textile method felt most fitting. I used gray yarn to make the necessary stitch cluster counts for the granny square work. This piece uses color as well as quantity as properties, and draws on interaction data.

(I made this granny square in about 10 minutes on the train on the day of the Data Visualization with Textiles showcase, after I lost the original one in my bag.)
